Gospel Musician Edward Akwasi Boateng Says All Secular Music Is Satanic

This debate comes up every few months, some holier than thou gospel musician opens their mouth and thinks they are the ‘ish’ because their craft involves singing praises to God.
Any ingrate can sing gospel if they are talented enough, it’s no guarantee they are actually ‘true’ worshipers of God, whatever that means.
Mr Akwasi Boateng is behaving like the millions of Ghanaians who believe they are purer than everyone else because they go to church every Sunday and put money in the collection bin.
Speaking with Top Fm, Gospel Musician Edward Akwasi Boateng said music by secular musicians is ‘Satanic’, which he says is why gospel singers usually do not collaborate with their secular counterparts.
“There is a clear distinction between songs by Sarkodie, others and gospel music: they sing about worldly things ‘Satan’ and we (Gospel Singers) sing about Christ,” he said.
He however added that not all gospel musicians are actually serving God, but that some sing for the devil. I imagine he’s exempting himself from the latter category.
He also weighed in on the debate on whether gospel musicians should charge for shows.
“A Gospel musicians should not charge for a show,” he said. “We should learn to minister for free but if you are given a token then that can be accepted.”
