The wife of the police officer who committed suicide after killing his mother-in-law and two kids, Rapha Iddrisu, has been handed Ghc 2,000 cash by the police administration to cater for her needs going forward.
Lance Corporal Wilfred Amuzu shocked his wife and the entire country on July 25 when he booked a rifle from his post, took it home – and shot his two kids and his mother-in-law to death before committing suicide.
The police administration have now announced a Ghc 2,000 cash offer to the widow, which has been taken out of a welfare fund the police have for such emergencies.
“The police administration as part of our welfare packages in times like these has donated an amount of GH¢2,000 to help her cater for her immediate needs,” The Tema regional police spokesperson, ASP Juliana Obeng told Joy News.
The spokesperson added that the widow would be given more monetary assistance going forward, if need be.
Rapha Iddrisu, in an interview after the unfortunate incident, said that her husband must have been possessed when he carried out the dastardly act.
