A poor innocent 6 years old girl has been practically sent in the preying mouth of the beast all in the name of marriage. An Afghan family who thought they have had enough of hunger decided to barter their daughter to a an ageing 55 years old man for a goat, rice, tea, sugar and cooking oil—Yes goat as in an animal goat.
A 6-year-old Afghani girl known as Gharibgol was sold into marriage after her father allegedly exchanged her for those items. A concerned relative however raised the alarm about the wedding which led to the arrest of the groom, Seyed Abdolkarim and the girl’s father.
According to the father, he and his family were desperate for food and by selling his daughter he had one less mouth to feed. He also insisted that the new husband of the girl had sworn not to have sex with her until she turned 18 which was a lie because after the wedding the husband begun chopping down that was when he revealed to the relative that the girl was not his daughter but wife.
Responding to the situation, the Woman’s Right Bureau says it will pursue a divorce and ensure the father is stripped of his parental rights. The girl is reportedly now living with her mother.
This is against anything that this earth frown upon. For how long were they going to feed on those items at all?.
