Rapper Kanye West just surpassed his idol Michael Jackson, by one metric at least.
West was featured on Schoolboy Q’s ‘That Part’ which just broke into the top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The achievement means Kanye attains his 40th appearance in the top 40 of the long running chart.
With the move, Kanye surpasses Michael Jackson’s 39 top 40 hits over his career, moving into 10th place in the list of most top 40 hits by male artists. Kanye still lags some way behind Elvis Presley’s record of 80 singles making it into the top 40.
