Talk about an epic fail – politics makes people say really dumb things, when they are intently focused on disparaging their opponents rather than promoting their candidate.
Same thing happened to Nii Lante over the weekend, and now Rudy Giuliani has made a worse blunder.
9/11 is the one thing a US politician can never forget, much less one who was mayor of New York at the time. But Rudy Giuliani was so focused on disparaging Obama that he made the ultimate faux pas, apparently forgetting the tragedy that decimated his city.
Speaking at a Donald Trump political event in Ohio Monday, the former New York mayor told supporters that until Barack Obama became US President, there hadn’t been a successful radical Islamic terror attack in the US.
True, if you ignore the twin towers tumbling down.
“Before Obama came along, we didn’t have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attack inside the United States,” the probably senile Giuliani said.
The funniest part of the whole thing (if funny is the right word) is that just moments before, Giuliani had talked about 9/11.
Perhaps, the answer is that he doesn’t consider Al-Qaeda to be a radical Islamic terrorist organisation.
