Black Stars deputy captain Andre Ayew Dede limped off half an hour into his West Ham debut, the record signing’s much anticipated debut cut short.
Ayew had injured his thigh, and the club has confirmed he would undergo surgery before he gets back to action.
The operation and recuperation is expected to last at least four months, ruling him almost entirely out of 2016. He would miss the the Black Stars’ upcoming qualifying games as well.
Dede joined the London club for a club record £20m, but has had his honeymoon period cut short by this unfortunate injury.
