Donald Trump’s wife Melania is suing the Daily Mail Newspaper and a US blogger for defamation after they run stories insinuating she might have been a s*x worker at one time in her past.
The New York Post published n*de photos of the Republican’s nominees wife from the mid 90’s, which led to allegations about her past which were dredged up by various media platforms.
The Daily Mail published a story repeating claims by a Slovenian newspaper that Melania had worked as an escort in New York before she met Trump, whilst the blogger, Webster Tarpley, claimed that Mrs Trump lived in mortal fear that portion of her past might one day become public knowledge.
Both have since retracted their claims.
“These defendants made several statements about Mrs Trump that are 100% false and tremendously damaging to her personal and professional reputation,” Trump’s lawyer, Charles Harder said in a statement announcing the lawsuit.
“Defendants’ actions are so egregious, malicious and harmful to Mrs Trump that her damages are estimated at $150m,”
