The award winning musician Taylor Swift stepped out for the first time with her head held high since news broke on Tuesday night that she has ended her relationship with Tom Hiddleston.

Swift, 26 and the British actor, 35 year old Tom Hiddleston have been dating for three months since June. But she became uncomfortable with the actor’s desire to be so public with their relationship.

She began to question Hiddleston’s motives after he asked her to join him on red carpet at Emmy Awards later this month, as he is nominated for The Night Manager.

She was spotted in New York wearing a patterned legging and a black tank top and a smile on her face showing her in a good mood even after her failed relationship.

A source talking to the Dailymail on Monday revealed that, “’Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private”. 

“Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable,’ the insider added.

‘She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons.’

The source added: ‘Taylor is an independent young woman and doesn’t feel like she needs a boyfriend to make her complete.’ 

However, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in July, Tom insisted that their relationship wasn’t a ‘showmance’ 

‘The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy,’ he said. ‘That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.’

The singer has never walked the red carpet with a boyfriend before.
