Getting people to give you their mandate is not an easy thing, that’s why politics is chock full of lying b*stards. Most politricktians would say anything they think the people want to hear just to get into power.
Yesterday was President Mahama’s turn to spew yarns to the public. For hours, at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra, President Mahama listed off all the things he couldn’t do in four years but which he would magically be able to do if elected again.
Among the litany of promises included an impending program aimed at getting students at the secondary level tablets which they can use to aid their studies. The President said the initiative would be rolled out as a pilot program and expanded nationwide depending on how well it worked out.
“Students will receive tablets that have all their core subjects on the tablet. If the pilot is successful, the programme shall be expanded.” the tablet sharer in chief said at the gathering.
He said this was to help combat the consistent poor performances in the core subjects that’s recorded every year.
“If you look at the results of the BECE and WASSCE, and you look at qualification from A1 to C6, you will find that the results are abysmal because most of the students fail in English, Mathematics and Science.”
The President added that, his government would “employ more teachers in these areas and give them the incentives to be able to teach our children,”
