The wife of Chinese tech billionaire Zhou Yahui is making a payday from their divorce that has got tongues wagging all across the globe.
Li Qiong is the lucky woman. Her divorce settlement with her wealthy husband contained the transfer of some shares from his Beijing Kunlun Tech firm to her, shares that immediately thrust a billion dollars into her lap.
According to stock filings made this week by Zhou, per the final agreement reached after their divorce proceedings in court, Zhou transferred hundreds of millions of Kunlun Tech to Qiong, shares estimated at a value of , again, over a billion bucks.
Zhou remains Kunlun’s largest shareholder – the firm earlier this year bought out a majority stake in the online gay dating app Grindr.
