M.anifest has spoken out on the biggest feud of the year so far, his beef with Sarkodie, and what was the genesis of the entire saga and why it got so heated.

M.anifest and Sarkodie got involved in a feud that exploded a couple months ago, leading to the release of diss tracks from both artists and countless social media battles between fans of either star.

But speaking on Citi Fm Friday, M.anifest spoke out on why the entire beef – which really took off with his release of ‘God MC’ – started. According to him, it was a matter of Sarkodie disrespecting him by using his catchphrase at the end of his lines in ‘Bossy’.

“I think if you make a song pretty much disparaging other rappers and use another rapper’s slogan to punctuate the song, somebody can look at it as disrespectful.” the rapper told Benard Avle.

“’Bossy’ was sort of disparaging other rappers which is fine. It’s everybody’s prerogative to state their claim but I was used to punctuate it and I felt I had something to say to the matter,” he added.

His something to say was ‘God MC’, which led to Sarkodie replying with ‘Kanta’ – as the two heavyweights went toe to toe.
