Gospel Singer Cecilia Marfo Sued For 'Stealing' Song

Veteran gospel singer Osei Boateng has announced that he’s sued fellow singer Cecilia Marfo for using a song of his on her album without any permission.
Boateng has thus sued Marfo for copyright infringement, a situation he revealed during an appearance on Hitz Fm.
According to Boateng, he was not even aware of the infringement until he was informed of it by someone else.
He said this prompted him to take the case before a judge.
“I didn’t know anything about her using my song but I’ve heard that there is someone called Cecilia Marfo who has used the song. I was talking to one guy about something and he brought it up that his artiste has released an album and she used one of my songs but I’ve not heard from the person again.
“I’ve taken Cecelia Marfo’s case to court…” he said.
“He’s (the judge) given me the writ to serve her but I don’t know her so I don’t know where to locate her.” he added.
Boateng continued, though, that he’s prepared to settle the matter amicably if Marfo comes to see him.
The song in question is “Yesu Ka Wo Ho”, which Marfo reportedly used in a worship album she released in 2011, ostensibly without permission.
