President Mahama is at the UN General Assembly giving nice speeches whilst his surrogates tell everyone how he’s so great that he deserves another term in office – but back home things aren’t exactly clicking for many people.
A family of four children whose father is dead and whose mum is a poor farmer live in so much poverty, that the children have to share school uniforms if they want to be educated.
Faustina Badu and her younger sister share the same uniform, which they exchange after one is done with classes for the other to use. Their two younger siblings, five and three year old boys, also share one uniform between themselves.
Faustina, 14, narrated her heart wrenching story to myjoyonline. It began after the death of their father and the inability of their mother to take care of them.
