Police have commenced a manhunt for the sole suspect in a shooting at Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington state – that has so far led to five casualties.
Four women and a man died at a Macy’s store in the mall late Friday after the gunman opened fire on patrons.
A search is underway for the suspect, an Hispanic man wearing a black t-shirt and armed with a rifle. A witness, Tari Caswell, narrated her experience of the incident.
The Guardian reports…
“[I heard] what sounded like four balloons popping.” Caswell said.
“Then I heard seven or eight more and I just stayed quiet in the dressing room because it just didn’t feel right. And it got very quiet. And then I heard a lady yelling for help, and a man came and got me and another lady, and we ran out of the store.”
Initial reports put the death toll at four, then five, as one victim died after being taken away for treatment.
