The flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor, has named her running mate for the 2016 general elections and it’s a colourful choice to say the least.
The baton has fallen on a 32 year old farmer, quite as uneducated as Madam Donkor herself – Mrs Patricia Asante.
Akua Donkor presented her running mate Monday, and said that she would appoint many more illiterate people like Mrs Asante and herself to high offices in her government.
Speaking to the Graphic Online, Akua Donkor said accusations from Ghanaians that she is not a serious candidate does not perturb her at all.
“I am not doing concert and if they say it is concert that I am doing they should wait and see what God will do…. That is why I always speak the truth because God says we should love our neighbours as ourselves.” she told the site.
“I think all women should commend her especially farmers who are mostly unlettered. She has given hope to those who have not been to school and now they can aspire to greater heights even without education.” Her running mate, Mrs Asante, added.
