Akua Donkor says her government would be filled with illiterates like herself, and already she’s demonstrating some of the pitfalls that could bring.
Akua Donkor announced her running mate Monday, an illiterate farmer known as Patricia Asante.  Asante gave her age to the press as 32 years, something Akua Donkor did not challenge as she at the time did not realise what was wrong with that age herself.
However, after it was pointed out that a 32 year old does not qualify to run for President per the constitution, Akua Donkor has now come out to say her running mate is actually 42 years old, and not 32 as she claimed.
Speaking to Adom Fm, Akua Donkor said her running mate does not know her date of birth since her father died very early. However, she Akua Donkor can assure us all that Madam Asante is “more than 40 years”.
I don’t know that makes it any better. If she cannot definitively prove her date of birth, she probably still does not qualify to stand. Fortunately, forging a document in Ghana is not all that hard to do.
