One of the world’s largest and most respected research firms, Fitch, has predicted a second round victory in the upcoming elections for NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.
Fitch issued a report on the upcoming elections which noted that despite either candidate potentially failing to cross the needed 50+1 threshold to win the first round, Nana Akuffo-Addo would probably consolidate the opposition vote and win the second round outright.
Fitch cites a recent poll conducted by AMC Goodman in their report, in which Nana Akuffo-Addo received support of 49% of respondents to John Mahama’s 44%.
The report also notes that numerous issues are working against the ruling NDC’s retention of power including the recent long running dumsor, high cost of living, attempts to privatise ECG, and the slowing pace of economic growth.
