An explosive went off near the house of the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Andy Osei Okrah, late Monday night.
The explosive was one of several found near his house after a sweep of the area by security officials following the initial blast.
Okrah was not around at the time and picked up no injury, and luckily no one else was hurt as well.
The military sent out a team to scour the area after they were notified of the explosion, and found three more explosive devices in the vicinity. The army disarmed and packed the devices away.
It’s currently unknown if there was a target for the blast, as the National Data Centre in Kumasi also shares a wall with the Deputy Minister’s residence.
