Former National Coordinator for the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), Deputy Minister of Interior, Kwabena Owusu Akyeampong known by all as Kobby Akyeampong loses by 3,166 votes.
Results announced by the Electoral Commission, failing to succeed First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ebo Barton-Odro as Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency.
He polled 16,309 votes, which were not enough to beat the 19,475 votes polled by New Patriotic Party’s Barbara Asher Ayisi. Progressive People’s Party’s Sarah Mary Bucknor came behind NDC’s candidate with 3,251 votes. With 88 votes, Convention People’s Party’s Peter Kwegyir Aggrey placed fourth.
