Akua Donkor never made her choice for President secret, even when she was running herself – John Dramani Mahama all the way.
It became even easier when she was disqualified, and she threw her weight behind the President officially once and for all.
Unfortunately, the President failed to hold on to his seat, beaten massively by the NPP’s Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.
With his ascension into office, the GFP has congratulated the 72 year old, calling on him to fight corruption as a matter of priority.
“We know for sure as president-elect you are much aware of element such as corruption and bribery which has been the bane of Ghana’s development and thus, humbly remind you to tackle it with all the urgency to give meaning to your vision and promises in bringing the desired prosperity and socio-economic development to Ghanaians”, the party said in a statement.
The party expressed confidence that having sought the office for so long, Akuffo-Addo would bring the needed experience and gravitas and put to bear towards solving our challenges as a nation.
