"Creative Artists Won't Play At Trump's Inauguration"- John Legend

blankJohn Legend predicts Donald Trump will struggle to book musicians to perform at his presidential inauguration.
If John was asked to play at Trump’s he would refuse. The singer believes the incoming president won’t be able to find many artists prepared to honour him by performing, due to the businessman turned politician’s controversial rhetoric and policies though it is usually regarded as one of the greatest honours a musician can receive.
“Creative people tend to reject bigotry and hate,” the Ordinary People singer, 37, told the BBC. “We tend to be more liberal-minded.
When we see somebody that’s preaching division and hate and bigotry, it’s unlikely he’ll get a lot of creative people that want to be associated with him.”
After Trump’s victory in November’s (16) presidential election, a member of Trump’s inauguration committee claimed Elton John would be performing, a suggestion that was strongly denied by the British icon’s publicist.
And editors at The Wrap report that the President-elect’s team is now desperately scrambling to find artists of a suitable calibre for the event.
“They’re calling managers, agents, everyone in town to see who they can get, and it’s been problematic,” one insider told the website, saying that although some singers had agreed to perform Trump’s team were hoping “artists like Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars” would agree to be on the bill.
