The final state of the nation address of President Mahama has been moved to January 5, 2017.
The President was initially slated to give the final address of his stewardship on Thursday, December 22 – but the address has been moved back to allow Parliament time to get its affairs in order.
“Before we went on the break for the election there were a number of bills outstanding. Prominent among them is the right to information bill.” Majority Whip Muntaka Mubarak told Joy News.
“So my understanding is that at the business committee we scheduled the businesses that were outstanding to try as much as possible to finish them,” he added.
The President would thus give his address on January 5, two days before he leaves office and his successor, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo is sworn in.
