David McDermott – British Fugitive Once Married To BoG Governor's Daughter Sentenced To 13 Years For Drug Trafficking

British drug lord David McDermott has received a 13 year sentence for drug trafficking after his trial in Liverpool drew to a close on Wednesday.
McDermott was found guilty of being part of a plot to import a massive quantity of cocaine from South America to the British Isles, cocaine with a street value worth a staggering £70m.
Justice Alan Conrad, QC, sentencing, said “This case arises of a plan to import a massive quantity of cocaine of high purity from South America. “It was a plan that very nearly succeeded. The value was enormous and the impact would have been enormous had the drugs reached the streets,”
McDermott fled to Ghana some years back when the search was on for his arrest in the UK, and incredibly started a new life here. He married Ramona Wampah, daughter of former Bank of Ghana governor Dr Henry Wampah in an extraordinary twist.
His identity was busted earlier this year and he was arrested, before being extradited to face trial for his crimes.
