Cristiano Ronaldo just ended the most stellar year of his career with another accolade, picking up the award for Fifa World Player of the Year for the fourth time in his career.
The 31 year old Portuguese and Real Madrid forward beat long time rival Lionel Messi to the award, with Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann finishing in third.
This becomes Ronaldo’s fourth award and leaves him just one behind Messi.
Fifa held its annual gala in Zurich earlier today, the first after splitting with France Football’s Ballon d’Or award.
