Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and winger Frank Achaempong were both on target as the team beat Uzbek giants Bunyodkor 2-0 in a pre-Afcon friendly in the United Arab Emirates.
The team are currently immersed in pre Afcon training in the United Arab Emirates and the game was organised as one of two pre tournament friendlies.
Asamoah Gyan started on the bench but came on in the second half and scored with virtually his first touch in the 66th minute, converting a cross from Christian Atsu.
Anderlecht winger Frank Achaempong scored the second a few minutes later, to give the Stars an unassailable two goal lead and victory in the tie.
The Black Stars are expected to play one more pre tournament friendly before commencing their competition in a game against Uganda on Tuesday, January 17.
