Aged 111, the mother of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, passed on peacefully at her palace on the 14th November 2016.

Asanteman has then been thrown into one of its historic royal funerals, as the late monarch has served as the longest living Queen Mother of the Asante Kingdom.

Her death is rather being celebrated for her enormous contribution to the Asante Kingdom as the Principal Adviser and Counselor to the King.

Her four day funeral rites which started yesterday and already characterized with significant presence of celebrities,  has since captured the beautiful culture of Asanteman at full display at the funeral grounds in the Manhyia Palace.

Dignitaries from around the world including President Akufo-Addo, Ex President JJ Rawlings, John Mahama, King of Swaziland, representatives from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Uganda and more are expected to be at her final funeral on Thursday.
