Gambian President-elect Adama Barrow has announced that his inauguration would take place in the Gambian embassy in Senegal, instead of the Gambian capital Banjul.
Barrow, in a post on twitter, said that instead of the planned inauguration which had been promised in his country, the ceremony would be held in the embassy in Senegal.
President Yahya Jammeh has refused to relinquish his hold on power in the tiny West African nation despite losing in elections held last year. This has led to the mounting of an ECOWAS force in Senegal waiting to enter the country to oust the long time leader.
