Fatau Dauda Went To The Dressing Room To Pray Before Both Goals Against DRC And He Believes His Prayers Worked

blankReserve Ghana goalie Abdul Fatau Dauda claims his prayers won Ghana the game against DR Congo in the Afcon quarter final game played on Sunday.

Dauda left the bench for the dressing room during the game twice, both times before Ghana scored, it’s being reported.

Football site Ghanasoccenet reports Dauda left the bench just a little before Jordan scored, and then after DRC equalised. He missed the first goal but was back on the bench before Atsu won the penalty Andre converted.

After the game, when asked about the absences, Dauda said he went to pray and perform ablution and Allah listened to him.

“…Yu know I am a prayerful person. I pray a lot. So when the game was difficult for us I went to the dressing room to perform ablution and then read the Quran. And Allah made things easier for us. That is what I went to the dressing room to do” Fatau said when asked about his absences.

When asked which part of Quran he read, the Enyimba Fc goalie laughed and said..

“I read Suratul Yasin. You know how powerful Yasin is?”

Ghana beat DRC with two goals from the Ayew brothers, qualifying for the semi finals at the ongoing tournament to meet Cameroon.
