19 year old Bechem United defender, Osman Iddrisu, has reportedly died after battling a short illness.

Iddrisu died in his hometown of Tamale where he had gone to seek treatment after getting injured playing for his club last season.

He reportedly was suddenly taken ill Wednesday and was rushed to hospital, but died not long after.

A spokesperson for the team confirmed the news to Ghanasoccernet.com.

“Yes it is true. Osman’s death was announced yesterday (Thursday) at the training grounds. A delegation from the team will be sent to the player’s family in Tamale today,” he said.
