Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has apologised to all Ghanaians for the Black Stars embarrassing campaign at the 2017 Afcon and promises they’ll return stronger to bring smiles onto our faces.

The Black Stars were beaten 2-0 by Cameroon in the semi finals of the current Afcon, before losing the third place game by 1-0 to the Burkinabes and thus exiting the tournament empty handed.

In a message on Facebook addressing the nation, the Athletico Madrid midfielder expressed regret for their horrible Afcon campaign.

“It was the dream and wish of all Ghanaians to win the prestigious cup of AFCON 2017 but unfortunately we couldn’t attain that goal . We are sorry for disappointing all Ghanaians around the world who have given us the massive support and rallied behind us since day 1.” he wrote.

“Nevertheless all I can say is a big thank you to Ghana for giving me this opportunity to serve my beloved country.”

Moving on, Partey said, the team hoped that they would be able to bring joy to Ghanaians when next given the same opportunity.

“All is not lost and we hope to come back strongly the next time and bring joy to the faces of all Ghanaians. Long live Ghana ! Long live the black stars!!”

The next chance at the trophy the team would have is at Afcon 2019, so we guess we only have two years to wait for Partey to fulfil his word.
