Afcon Campaign Propels Ghana Back Into Top 50 In The World In Latest Fifa Rankings

The Black Stars of Ghana have moved back into the top 50 teams in the world following their Afcon campaign which saw them finishing fourth overall.

Ghana had dropped to 54th in the world prior to the tournament, our lowest ranking in over a decade, but the run to the semi-finals of the continent’s flagship tournament have dragged them back up.

Ghana is now 45th in the world, and 8th in Africa.

African champions Cameroon were one of the highest jumpers on the log, moving 29 places to 33rd in the world. Cameroon are now 3rd on the continent, behind fellow big movers Egypt (23rd) and Senegal (31st).

Globally, nothing changed at the top of the rankings, with Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Chile and Belgium comprising the top 5.
