Gather up some snacks and prepare for another classic movie in the next few months as KOFAS Media, producers of Kalybos in China, Amakye and Dede, and Adventures of Kalybos, have announced their newest production set to be released on April 14, 2017.
The official announcement was made at a press briefing on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Accra. Kofi Asamoah, Chief Executive Officer of KOFAS Media, laid out the production’s house production schedule, citing late February as the commencement of the movie.
According to him, the movie will be shot with a budget of $150,000; co-funded by Miracle Wave International Limited. He called on the public to be on the lookout for the movie since it’ll be a local movie with high international flavor.
Announcing the cast and crew for the movie, Kofi Asamoah said the upcoming movie will feature prominent actors and actresses like Pete Edochie, Kalybos, Ahuofe Patri, LilWin, Nana Ama McBrown, Zynnell Zuh, Joselyn Dumas, Salma Mumin, Yaw Dabo, Kwaku Sintim Misah (KSM), A Plus, Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Grace Nortey, among others.
Actress Nana Ama McBrown who was present at the briefing couldn’t hide her joy to be part of the upcoming production. According to her, Ghanaians should expect nothing but the best.
Nigeria’s most celebrated actor, Pete Edochie, also expressed his pleasure to be among the cast for the upcoming movie, while reminiscing about his experience in Ghana in the early 90s.
The movie, as mentioned by KOFAS Media, is a Crimedy (Crime Comedy) which will be shot at three locations, namely Accra, Ada, and Asutware.
The movie tells the story of two ‘idiots’ (Kalybos and Lil Win) who work for a wicked baron (Pete Edochie). These ‘idiots’ were sent by their master to deliver $1,000,000 to another baron (KSM). On their way to deliver the money, their car developed mechanical fault. Their search for a mechanic proved futile. As night emerged, the two spotted a resort, so decided to spend the night there. While carrying the money to their room, the bag containing the money split open, paving way for the money to scatter on the floor.
Now, all the workers, including other guests at the resort, know there’s $1,000,000 hidden in Kalybos and Lil Win’s room. They all try their best to get hold of that money. Meanwhile, the recipient (KSM) is waiting for the money to be delivered to him. What will he do? What’s Pete Edochie, the wicked baron also going to do? And how will Lil Win and Kalybos safeguard that money? Well, the outcome will be made known in the movie.
