The Public Relations Officer of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has rubbished reports speculating on what might have led to the suicide of Adwoa Anyimadu-Antwi-, the first year student who committed suicide.

Adwoa, the daughter of a prominent NPP MP, shocked the country when news of her suicide broke last week.

According to the PRO, Kwame Yeboah, the stories about the suicide being caused by failed exams or a broken heart have not been confirmed – and thus the public should be circumspect in believing what they say.

“The issue has even changed to the fact that her boyfriend jilted her. All those information are not the fact and are false.” he emphatically said, adding that “tomorrow the university will issue a statement.”

“One thing we must also take note of is that the lady died and the circumstances we are not aware of. She was taken to the hospital and she was declared dead on arrival, so the coroner’s report will be needed to determine the cause of the death. So let us wait till that is out.” he added.
