VGMA reigning artist of the year, EL, has pledged to become the first star to win the coveted VGMA Artist of the Year award back to back.
EL won the award last year in controversial circumstances and having been nominated once again, is gunning for what would be an historic win.
Whilst artists like Sarkodie and VIP have won the top award on two occasions, no artiste has ever been able to win the award in successive years.

Speaking to Graphic Showbiz, EL said he completely deserved to win the award once again after having what he considers a stellar year.
“I believe I deserve to win Artiste the Year because I performed at all the major shows from December2Remember, Night of Laughs, Peace Concert and I had my own show The Bar 3”, he said.
“I released three hit songs—Kaa Bu Ame, Lalafalama and Fefeefe last year so who else but myself deserve to win the award? Infact, I intend to win more awards in addition to the Artiste of the Year” he confidently added.
The 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, which comes off in April – would pit EL against Sarkodie, Medikal, MzVee, Joe Mettle and Stonebwoy for the top award on the night.
