Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan continues to capture the headlines in the United Arab Emirates.

Gyan has equalled a long standing record in the Emirates – the record for the highest goals scored by a foreigner in the UAE league.

Gyan’s penalty strike Wednesday as his side Al Ahli beat Al Dhafra away was his 99th in the league, equaling the record set by Brazilian forward Anderson.

With many more games ahead, Gyan would surely break the record soon enough.
