The Boss of policy think-tank IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, has expressed immense disappointment with the President’s appointment of 110 new ministers, saying the decision simply ‘doesn’t make sense’.

The President appointed over two dozen deputy ministers and ministers of state Wednesday, bringing the total number of appointments he’s made to his government 110 – a number many Ghanaians are alarmed by.

Cudjoe, interviewed on Starr Fm Thursday, said the high number of appointees simply doesn’t make sense.

According to Cudjoe, the appointments was simply opening the way for ‘lawful plunder’ by the appointees and starting a competition for Ghana’s tiny resources.

“Cronyism leads to corruption. If the money doesn’t belong to you, you don’t see the need to be prudent.” he continued, adding:

“It doesn’t make sense because it is lawful plunder… This isn’t smart governance. It is a complete misunderstanding of what our structures stand for,”
