Veteran Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is nearly universally beloved, not just for her impressive talent but her enviable marital life of bliss.

The actress has been married since she was a teenager, and two decades later – is still married to her husband and with four children out of their union.

Omotola was recently interviewed by Bola Ray on Starr Chat, and she was asked about how she met her husband at such a young age and how they came together.

According to the actress, she met her husband in church, at a time when she was a rebellious teenager who went to church in short skirts to cause disruption.

“I met him [my husband] through church. I went to church hoping to disrupt the church…in my mini hot skirt…very hot…I just wanted to make my own statement like I don’t care what you think…because in my mind and in my heart I was very good person but a lot of people thought I was a very bad person because of the way I dressed.” Omotola told Bola.

According to her, she met her husband, captain Matthew Ekeinde, after his sister introduced her to him. They got married not long after, when she was only 18 year old, in 1996.
