He might be 90 years old a the former vicar of Christ on Earth, but former Pope Benedict XVI was not having his birthday party without beer.

That would mark him as a bad German!

Born Joseph Ratzinger, the former pontiff marked his birthday at his Vatican Grounds residency, where he has been since he resigned.

Joined by his brother, the pair were photographed enjoying some beer on the massive day.
