There’s a 32-year-old man/musician by name Daddy Lumba Jnr who tries to look much like Daddy Lumba though there’s some natural resemblance. Apart from similar physical looks, this young man has all Lumba’s gestures from his way of singing, talking and diction. Let’s say he is just the black and white photocopy of Daddy Lumba which he says it’s all by spiritual means and not his personal desire.
Daddy Lumba Jnr. whose real name is Kwame Anokye told Delay on the Delay Show that it’s even possible his late mother had an affair with Lumba to give birth to him and he wouldn’t mind going for a DNA test when he feels like. According to Kwame, the Lumba-look-alike path he has chosen has caused a sour relationship between him and his biological father.
Kwame reiterated that Daddy Lumba is his God on earth and he worships him as such. During the interview, he even told Delay he could feel Daddy Lumba’s spirit around. Kwame has met Daddy Lumba a number of times and says the Legend has no problem of him impersonating him.
Kwame who claims he even sees or knows Daddy Lumba’s new songs before they are even released has also stated that a time will come where he will be living with the Lumba nuclear family as a son of the legend.
Interestingly, Lumba Jnr and Lumba Snr are not even distant related by any means.
Lumba Jnr also performs Lumba songs at shows and get paid but says he doesn’t charge and people only reward the Lumba spirit in him with anything deserving the original Daddy Lumba.
However, according to Delay, She’ll sue anyone who attempts to replicate what she does without wasting time. According to Delay that’s gross unpardonable impersonation.
Watch an excerpt of the interview below where Kwame Anokye disagrees he is ill mentally for an absurd obsession and tell us what you think.
