Former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah returned to Ghana Friday to a rousing welcome by fans and supporters groups at the Kotoko International Airport.

The former Al Khartoum coach has been tapped by the FA to take over the coaching reins of the senior national team from Avram Grant.

Appiah left in ignominy during his first spell, and his second appointment has also been criticised, but it seems the mood has shifted in his favour considering the response he received at the airport.

Speaking to reporters after touching down, the former Ghana captain said he would do his best to help the team but would need all the help he can from Ghanaians.
