John Dumelo goofed – big time!

The actor posted a photo of a young ‘KNUST graduate’ earlier today with the caption ‘Just saw a KNUST grad hawking in traffic. What went wrong?’

Many, including A Plus, has criticised Dumelo for the post which demeans hawking and the efforts of a graduate simply trying to survive.

However, if social media is to be believed, turns out the gentleman is not a ‘full time hawker’, so to speak.

According to a post by one Samuel Awaitey, the ‘hawker’ is in fact the CEO of a bakery company. His name is actually Kwaku Vito and he employs over 200 people in Kumasi.

Dumelo saw him in traffic because he was promoting his brand in Accra.

Dumelo is left with pie in his face as it turns out the one he was trying to demean was actually a CEO simply going out of his comfort zone to promote his company. However, even if the gentleman was a hawker and not a CEO, Dumelo’s actions are still egregious and demeaning and should not be condoned.
