The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Benito Owusu-Bio, has announced that government is consulting a fetish priest to help in the extraction of the miners trapped in a collapsed mine.
Speaking in an interview, Owusu-Bio said the priest who presides over the lands on which the mine sits has been summoned to come help with the attempts to rescue the trapped miners.
The miners were trapped Sunday after a downpour caused the over 80 foot mine to cave in. Some managed to escape but the vast majority remain trapped with the rescue efforts yielding no results after 48 hours of search.
The Deputy Minister also pledged that government would redouble efforts to crack down on illegal mining in the country.
Now, we wait with bated breath to see if the fetish priest is the missing ingredient to the mission’s success. Only in Ghana….
