The Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II has chosen a Ghanaian-born officer from the Household Cavalry to take up one of the most important roles in the royal household, as the equerry.
Major Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah who has been appointed as the next equerry becomes the first black man to hold that position.
Interestingly, Major Twumasi-Ankrah,  38, popularly known as TA, was the first black officer to be appointed to the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.
Major Twumasi-Ankrah is Afghanistan war veteran.
