An exceptional season of Game of Thrones has turned out to be disastrous for HBO as they suffer leak after leak after leak of landmark episodes of the show.
After the script of epsiode 3 was leaked, followed by a full blown leak of episode 4 – HBO has only managed to go an episode without incident before suffering another leak.
And this leak of episode 6 is the most absurd of all.
According to reports, HBO Nordic ‘accidentally’ aired the episode for an entire hour in Spain before the mistake was discovered and it was taken down. This has made the episode, which was set to air Sunday, already ubiquitous on numerous file sharing sites and communities like Reddit.
A rotten season security wise continues for HBO, who gave the following statement about the latest leak.
“We have learned that the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones was accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO España platforms,” says a HBO spokesperson.
“The error appears to have originated with a third-party vendor and the episode was removed as soon as it was recognized. This is not connected to the recent cyber incident at HBO in the US.” the statement added.
