The government of Ghana has flown relief items worth about $1m to the people of Sierra Leone.
The West African nation is reeling after a flood led to a mudslide which engulfed over hundred houses and has led to the deaths of hundreds of people and displaced more.
A government statement released earlier today announced the relief package, which would be airlifted to Sierra Leone. The items include food, medicines, clothing etc.
As part of Ghana’s comprehensive response to the tragedy, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia would visit the country on Saturday to extend the commiserations of the government and people of Ghana.
