The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has donated an amount of Ghc 50,000 to the family of the late Major Maxwell Mahama.
The donation from the Asantehene occurred at Manhyia on Monday, during a courtesy call on his person paid by the family of the late, slain soldier.
Otumfuo described the late Major as an exemplary soldier whose life of service and dedication was tragically cut short. He added that the donation was to help towards the education of the kids he left behind.
The delegation to visit the Otumfuo included the Mahama family head, the father of the late soldier and his widow, Barbara Mahama.
Major Maxwell Mahama was lynched to death by residents of Denkyira-Obuasi earlier this year after he was allegedly mistaken for an armed robber.
