Asamoah Gyan Names Exact Time He'll Retire From Black Stars

Those hoping not to see more of Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan in the national team would have to wait just a little bit longer.
According to Gyan’s high school coach and longtime mentor, Coach J.E Sarpong, Gyan has two huge milestone he wants to achieve before hanging up his boots altogether.
Sarpong told Ghanasoccernet that he advised Gyan to quit the national team since he has achieved everything there is to achieve, but the 31 year old said he would do so only after taking Ghana to the next world cup and nations cup tournaments.
“I spoke personally to Asamoah Gyan in Kumasi and advised him to quit the national team,” Sarpong told the site.
“I have asked him to leave this team now. He has everything in football – money, houses, cars and name. Just leave this team now and save yourself. But he told me he wanted to qualify the team to the World Cup but now that appears difficult, he wants to qualify to the 2019 Afcon and then he will quit [after the tournament].”
Many Ghanaians are questioning the usefulness of Gyan and the Ayew brothers in the team after the Stars destroyed Congo by 5-1 in Brazzaville without any of the three in the team. However, it seems for Gyan in particular, we have not seen the last of him for some time to come.
