Afro-pop sensation Becca teamed up with Mr Eazi to drop a certifiable banger known as ‘Number One’, which was released last month.
Few weeks down the line, the pair have teamed on the newly released video for the song which is cinematographically one of the best we’ve seen this year.
Becca and the Nigerian-Ghanaian star together deliver the performance of their lives in the video, displaying ample chemistry and showing they truly desire to be the other’s ‘number one’.
The song tells the story beautifully, of a lovestruck couple eager to profess their love for each other in all ways possible. The setting is one of the most romantic you can think of, with pouring rain illuminating the desire of either to be with each other no matter the circumstances.

And it didn’t hurt that both Becca and Mr Eazi looked like they belonged together, not just musically but on a physical level as well. Both are attractive, multi talented stars and for the purpose of the video one can easily believe they truly desire each other.
And if you don’t think that’s important you know very little about the human species.
If this was the first time the two are pairing up, you wouldn’t have noticed.
Phamous Philms shot the video, under the auspices of Zylofon Media, to which the talented songstress is signed to. And it clearly showed in the absolute quality of the finished product from a cinematic standpoint.
Multiple shots fused seamlessly to create one original masterpiece and the transitions remained smooth, not as jarring as some music videos can make it seem.
Another point of excellence for ‘Number One’ was its utilization of video vixens, who were enough to showcase their value but not too much to take over from the central cast of the song. The love song is about the couple involved and they did enough on their own to overshadow the vixens, who as we all know are supposed to complement  and not be the main cast.
It’s something that has become too annoying in music videos, not just in Ghana but all across the globe, and thus one appreciates the care taken by the director here to keep the story focused on those who truly matter most.

Telling a love story is the oldest trick in the book in the arts, whether in literature, music or art. It’s nothing new, but each story can be unique based on how well written and well directed the finished product turns out to be, and ‘Number One’ is more well put together than most.
Two stars from two adjacent genres team up to create a beautiful piece of eye candy, staking a claim, metaphorically, for why they are ‘Number One’. On this evidence, it’s hard to disagree.
