Member of Parliament for Odododiodio in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has announced plans to run for President on the ticket on the NDC in 2020.
According to the former Youth and Sports Minister, he would gladly take the mantle to unseat the current President, Nana Akufo-Addo, in 2020.
“I am ready to lead the NDC and kick out the NPP from government in 2020″ Vanderpuye said.
Vanderpuye is incredibly popular in his constituency but it’s difficult to gauge how that would translate nationwide.
Anyway, like most NDC 2020 hopefuls, Nii Lante gave one condition for his run.
“If I lead I will guarantee the party victory but that is only if John Mahama is unwilling is not going again”,
Vanderpuye is a staunch ally of the defeated former President and has said even if he doesn’t want to run the party would find a way to force him to run in 2020.
