Veteran Ghanaian journalist Kwaku Baako has thrown his support on calls for the government to decriminalize marijuana in Ghana – an opinion Kwaw Kese also shared recently.
Kwaku Baako’s comment comes after the suggestion made by The Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Standards Authority, Professor Alex Dodoo that marijuana can fetch Ghana some economic gains it’s legal.
According to Kwaku Baako who was speaking on Metro Tv’s Good Morning Ghana, he revealed that he has been a marijuana user before and it didn’t destroy him and later asked if the substance can be legalized for cultivation and export.

He asked “ so can we do a legalization of cultivation for purposes of export and ensure that some is not left here for local use not just medicinal purpose ”
Speaking as an expert in using cannabis, he continued that “if you are not careful you’ll go and smoke the bad type, there’s a quality one and there’s a bad one, Boka, if you go and smoke the bad the ones continuously you’ll get headache and have problems but there’s good quality wee that is refresh … I know what I a talking about … you just have to smell it and you’ll know this is good stuff“.
He added that he foresees a situation where one day Ghana will do that legalization and control the production otherwise it can create problems.
